Cheesy Meatballs

Ingredients:

1 pound extra lean ground beef

¼ tsp. garlic salt

ground red pepper

¼ cup finely chopped onion

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded Monterey jack cheese

 

Directions:

Mix ground beef, onions, garlic salt, and red pepper. Form into balls and brown on all sides until no longer pink in the middle. Serve on a plate with both kinds of shredded cheese sprinkled on top.

Our Healthy Hints: Use extra lean ground beef with no more than 7% fat (93% lean).

Bariatric Bites: You can create your own portions with these meatballs. Try making them the size of a golf ball to help you measure your portions. A golf ball is about 2 tablespoons in volume.
